Jocelyn Fowler, Staff Attorney
Jocelyn Fowler joined the Supreme Court of Texas for the Permanent Judicial Commission for Children, Youth and Families in May 2018. At the Children’s Commission, Jocelyn leads the Statewide Collaborative on Trauma-Informed Care and other efforts by the Commission to expand trauma-informed practice and policy. Additionally, she provides support for the Commission’s work to address disproportionality in child welfare and advance equitable court experiences for all families. Jocelyn also focuses on strengthening collaborations between the state and Texas’ federally recognized Tribes and providing training on the Indian Child Welfare Act. Jocelyn began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable John L. Call, Jr., Presiding Judge of the Family Division in Burlington County, New Jersey. In 2012, Jocelyn moved home to Texas and joined the Supreme Court of Texas Access to Justice Commission where she focused on increasing access to the civil justice system for low-income Texans. Jocelyn earned a Juris Doctorate from Rutgers Law – Camden in 2011 and a Bachelor of Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin in 2005.
